SADC has been collaborating with an exciting, young, local scriptwriter, Will Johnston, to record a pilot episode of his radio sitcom to pitch to potential production companies. SADC Members now have an opportunity to see a live presentation of Next Stop, Chitterham with full sound effects at a picnic party at The Croft on Sunday 7th August at 4pm. Will’s script is so good that, when the pilot inevitably develops into a hugely successful series on national radio, you will be able to say, ‘I heard it here first’.
The entertaining performance of this 45-minute hilarious and topical comedy by the cast will be the highlight of SADC’s summer social in the garden. Bring your own food, drink, plates and glasses. And don’t forget something to sit on.
There’s no charge for attending but there will be a collection to help with the expenses of producing Next Stop, Chitterham; suggested donation £5 per adult.
As space is very limited, especially if the weather forces us indoors, please let Dick Bower know by e-mail as soon as possible if you want to join us, including whether you will be accompanied. Admission will be on a first come first served basis.
We look forward to seeing you there.
Will Johnston was recently a semi-finalist in Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s comedy writing competition (top 10 out of 600), leading him to development talks with Sister Productions. He has also reached the top 1% of the Papatango play competition (1500 entries).
