SADC now holds regular acting workshops throughout the year, known as Let’s Act!
The workshops are led by experienced SADC members, some of whom have had professional training in acting and most of whom have directed for SADC. These workshops are for both members and non-members and are held approximately monthly. They enable members to continue to develop their acting skills and to keep in touch with other members. They are also an opportunity for potential new members to find out what it’s all about and to try acting without the pressure of a show or learning lines.
Please note that these evenings are free to members with an up to date membership or to anyone over 18 years old wishing to try a Let’s Act! workshop event for the first time. A charge of £3 will be made for all other attendees.

15th October 2025 will be a read through of the play Single Spies by Alan Bennett which has been selected for the March 2026 production with the director, David Page
26th November 2025 to be led by Michaela Moher
14th January 2026 to be led by Dave Thompson
11th February 2026 will be a read through of the play Honour by Joanna Murray Smith which has been selected for the June 2026 production with the director, Sheila Carr
18th March 2026 to be led by Terry Oakes
15th April 2026 to be led by David Thompson
13th May 2026 will be a read through of the play selected for the November 2026 production
10th June 2026 to be led by Michael Saunderson
Let’s Act! workshops are held in the Rehearsal Room at the The CryerArts Centre, 39 High Street, Carshalton SM5 3BB from 8.00pm to 10.00pm. Access to the Rehearsal Studio at the CryerArts Centre is by the side door on the right hand side of the building and is on the 2nd floor.
