We are pleased to announce that our March 2027 production will be the play Colder Than Here by Laura Wade and will be directed by David Hedges. The play will be performed at the CryerArts Centre from Tuesday 16th to Friday 19th March 2027.
David’s last directing role with SADC was the tour de force of Two at the CryerArts Centre in March 2024, a play that by turns brought laughter and sadness to the audience. And Colder Than Here is likely to play on our emotions in just the same way. David is also very familiar to SADC watchers, having performed in numerous successful leading roles, including two reprisals of the role as Thomas Cromwell in A Man for All Seasons and most recently Anne Boleyn, both at the Adrian Man. He has also taken the roles of Serge in Art, Laurence in Alys, Always and Otto Frank in The Diary of Anne Frank, amongst many. So this production will very much benefit from his considerable experience directing and acting for SADC.
A reading of this play, led by David, will take place at our acting workshop Let’s Act! on Wednesday 14th October 2026 in the Rehearsal Room at the CryerArts Centre, Carshalton. This is an opportunity for actors interested in auditioning to get to know the play and find out more from David about his ideas for this production. The audition will be shortly after this date and will be announced in the near future.
