June Let’s Act! – Less Is More

posted in: Info | 0

Our next Let’s Act! acting workshop at 8.00pm on Wednesday 10th June 2026 and will be led by Michael Saunderson in the Rehearsal Room at the CryerArts Centre. Michael is one of our most exeprienced leaders of our Let’s Act! workshops and they are always great fun. This month’s promises to be just as much fun too and the subject is “Less is More”.

Performers easily get stuck in the trap of inventing more and more things to do on stage, feeling that this is what an audience needs. What you can easily end up with is distraction for the audience who don’t know what to focus on next.

We will be exploring how we get stuck in this trap and ways to get out of it. By the end of the night, you’ll hopefully worry less that you’re not doing enough!

Michael’s been mucking about in the theatre for about 30 years. He’s tried his hand at plays, musicals, Shakespeare, improvisation and for a short while as a lead singer in a band. Over the years he’s learnt from a lot of wonderful people and loves to get the chance to share some of the many tricks and tips he’s picked up along the way. He is a believer in taking the fear out of being on stage and just enjoying being in the moment of whatever’s happening.

So come and enjoy the moment with us and Michael.

Whether you are an experienced SADC member or a potential new member, keen to find out what it’s all about, join Dave for some acting practice performing some of the best comedy to have appeared on British stages. Don’t miss this enjoyable evening.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Please note that these evenings are free to members with an up to date membership or to anyone over 18 years old wishing to try a Let’s Act! workshop event for the first time. A charge of £3 will be made for all other attendees.
