Our next acting workshop, known as Let’s Act!, is on Wednesday 17th April 2024 at 8.00pm in the Rehearsal Studio of the CryerArts Centre, Carshalton.
Fresh from her recent success playing Frances Thorpe, the lead in our production of Alys, Always, Ella MacDonnell will be leading our next Let’s Act! evening.
Ella’s professional experience and training in drama enabled her to take on the very challenging role of Frances in which she had to evolve from a nice, but naïve and underappreciated fixer of everyone’s problems, to a ruthless professional woman who has turned her life around, has joined the elite and is someone that you definitely wouldn’t want to cross. It’s a testament to her skill as an actor that her own personality couldn’t be further from either of her two stage personas in the play.
Ella is now planning an exciting Let’s Act! evening which will develop and enhance your acting skills. The evening will be based on script work and will be focussed on the intentions and motivations of characters and how to bring them to life from the words on the page. This workshop will make even our experienced actors think hard about how to say their lines and will enable those new to acting to start to develop those skills which are the difference between a good performance and a great performance.
So, whether you are an experienced SADC member or a potential new member, keen to find out what it’s all about, join us for this exciting evening in the Rehearsal Room at the The CryerArts Centre, 39 High Street, Carshalton SM5 3BB from 8.00pm to 10.00pm.
We have two more dates for workshops before the summer break which will be:
15th May 2024
12th June 2024
And we will recommence a new season of workshops in September 2024.
Please note that these evenings are free to members with an up to date membership or to anyone over 18 years old wishing to try a Let’s Act! workshop event for the first time. A charge of £3 will be made for all other attendees.
