Sutton Amateur Dramatic Club (SADC) is one of the longest-established community drama groups in the country and is a registered charity.
Our aim is to promote the performance and appreciation of live amateur theatre in the areas of Sutton, Cheam, Wallington, Carshalton and Banstead in Surrey.
We stage three productions a year in March, June and November: two productions at The Adrian Mann Theatre, Ewell, and one in Carshalton.
We aim to cover the widest possible range of theatre and our productions include comedy and tragedy, classic and modern, light entertainment and challenging drama. While many of our productions include music, our range does not include musicals.
We aim to stage productions of the highest standard and many of our actors and directors are very talented and experienced. However, we are always keen for newcomers to join us, regardless of experience. All we ask for is enthusiasm and commitment and we think you will have a lot of fun.
And not forgetting all the people who are behind the scenes – for every production there are at least as many people off stage as on stage, doing costumes, props, set building and painting, publicity, front of house, sound, lighting and play selection, all of whom make an essential contribution too.
In addition to our main productions we also hold several social events throughout the year, which are publicised in our regular members’ newsletter known as TABS. SADC is a very friendly group and all members are very welcome to take part in our activities.
